BTI 50th Anniversary

The only way our 50th BTI Reunion & Conference could have been any better would be if you had been able to join us!

It was a great two days as we celebrated the 50th Anniversary of Larry Hipps being the president of the Bring Them In Ministries. We had folks joining us from eight states and it was a time of thanking God for the past 50 years and looking forward to whatever He has next.

Here are a few memories we would like to share, and especially thank our speakers and special guests for making the meeting so very special.

The host church was outstanding and if you are ever in Dalton, GA, be sure to stop by Salem Baptist Church for a visit – they will be glad to see you!

Often when I’m the guest speaker at a church, I’m introduced as the founder of the Bring Them In Ministry. I don’t say anything but the truth is that I’m the fourth person to head up the ministry.

BTI started in 1971, exclusively a Bus Ministry newsletter – it was four typewritten pages and the editor of the newsletter was Wick Brandon.

In 1972, the newsletter was taken over by S. Ray Sadler, who turned it into a full-fledged magazine. Sadly, Ray was killed in a tragic small plane crash coming back from a conference and his brother, Joe R. Sadler, took over the ministry and continued to publish the magazine until 1975 when he decided to sell the magazine - that’s where I come in.

So, since 1975 I’ve headed up the BTI Ministry and during those five decades we have trained thousands of Children’s Ministry workers in hundreds of churches all across America and in three foreign countries.

We have also supplied thousands of Children’s Ministry resources so volunteers can have good, sound material as they teach and minister to kids and their families.

One of the best things is that I’ve made some wonderful friends with like hearts, I’m so glad that many of them were able to join us at the 50th Reunion & Conference.

I wanted this meeting to be something that honors the past 50 years and cast a vision for the future—not so much for the BTI Ministry but for the ministries of all those attending. I wanted to emphasize that commitment, faithfulness and knowing the call of God for your life leads to long term ministry. I think we were able to do that and God blessed our efforts.

Yours in His Certain Victory,

Larry Hipps

Hi Dr. Larry,

I agree with you that last Saturday I did not have anything happen that was completely mind blowing, but it did change my life forever. I have only been teaching kids for about a year now. My wife and I don't have any kids, so I feel like I have a lot to learn if I am going to be a good teacher. You and the other speakers made a great impact on my life. I wanted to tell you that and thank you.

Bro. Larry,

It was a great conference.  Thank you so much for your faithfulness and investment in our lives and ministries. Thank you also for the children's church curriculum you gave us!  We greatly appreciate all you are doing for the cause of our great Savior!  Let us know if we can ever help you!

Love in Christ,

Thad & Cheri E.
